Restricted Skip Items
According to waste disposal rules and legislation, items that are harmful or hazardous cannot be put in a skip.

Hazardous waste
Waste is classified as hazardous when it has properties that can cause harm to the environment and human health. Common types of hazardous waste include:
- Batteries
- Aerosols
- Fluorescent tubes
- Paint and paint tins
- Solvents and oils
- Asbestos
WEEE Equipment
Since the introduction of the Waste Electronic & Electrical Equipment (WEEE) directive, certain types of electrical equipment is required to be diverted from landfill, including:
- Computers, televisions and monitors
- Fridges, freezers and fridge freezers
